Wear the most awesome pair of cowboy boots and jeans you can find. Ladies, find your best pearls! Gents, dust off that bow tie! We're dressin' up those jeans 'cause we're puttin' on the hawg to raise money for early literacy initiatives of Stokes Partnership for Children, including Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Through your support, every child in Stokes County under the age of 5 receives a free book each month!

VIP Pass tickets include early viewing with doors opening at 4:00 p.m. and includes special VIP valet parking, special seating, early bird event preview with right to exercise "buy it now" option on silent auction items, and ticket holder will be entered into an exclusive drawing for a special prize. Special Hors d'oeuvres will be served while hobnobbing with the SPC Board of Directors.

All proceeds from this event go toward the Howard Mabe Literacy Fund* to support early literacy programs for over 2,000 young children in Stokes County in order to encourage the love of reading beginning at an early age. Programs supported are:
- Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library EVERY child under 5 years of age in Stokes County receives a free book EVERY month! We launched this program in 2015 as a direct result of past proceeds from BBQ for Books.
- Reach Out and Read An evidence-based program that promotes early literacy and school readiness in the pediatric exam room of Pioneer Pediatric Clinic of Danbury by giving new books to children and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud.
- Lending Library Books are purchased to be available for check out by the public through the KidSource Child Care Resource and Referral Library in King.
- Little Folks Festival & Other Events Books are given away at community events like our Little Folks Festival (Walnut Cove & King). Young children visit a school classroom during the event and get to take a book home for free.
